How much does it cost?
Studio rental is $350 per day.
House engineer is $150 per day.
What are your hourly rates?
You can book a full day ($350/eight hour) or a half day ($200/four hour) session.

Is there a deposit?
Yes, there is a 25% deposit (of your invoice total) due at the time of booking.
All deposits are non-refundable so please plan accordingly.
What styles of music are recorded at BIG EGO?
We have recorded jazz, rock, pop, dance, gospel, folk, country, hip-hop, bluegrass, R&B, soul, and children's music.

Can anyone record at BIG EGO?
Yes! We are a professional, commercial recording studio.
You don't need to be signed to a record label and are welcome to do with your music as you please.
Do I need a producer to record at BIG EGO?
No. But you will need an engineer!
Can I engineer my own session?
Yes! But we will need to have a quick meeting to make sure our equipment is in safe hands.
Does the $350 include a producer?
No. You are free to hire your own producer (or not).
Can I intern/work at BIG EGO?
We’re not big fans of the intern system. It slows us down and you don’t get paid.
The best way to start working at the studio is to book your own session.
We hire good people who do good work.
When can we start?
Booking is based on availability, but is usually done 2 - 3 months in advance.
Feel free to inquire about your dates any time.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
Sessions may be rescheduled with a minimum 7 days written notice (prior to scheduled start date).
Please note that rescheduling is a one time exception only and subject to availability.
If you are unable to keep your rescheduled dates, you will be billed for 100% of your reserved session time.
No exceptions.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Sessions may be cancelled with a minimum 7 days written notice (prior to scheduled start date) for a refund (less the deposit).
Cancellations taking place after 7 days, will be billed for the remaining 50% of your reserved session time.
What is your "no show" policy?
If you do not show up for your session you will be you will be billed for 100% of your reserved session time.
No refunds.
What if I'm running late?
We will be there on time, and so should you!
We will begin billing at the agreed upon start time.
What happens if my session goes long?
We consider a working day to be 10 hours long.
This includes the standard eight hours plus an hour of prep before and an hour of clean up after each session.
If more time is required, it is subject to the availability of our house engineer & producers schedule.
If you are working without our producer, our overtime fee is $25 per hour.
Fees must be paid same day directly to our house engineer.

What kind of converters do you use?
We currently have a Universal Audio Apollo x16 running on Thunderbolt 2 and 3 connections.
What version of Pro Tools are you running?
We don't use Pro Tools but you’re welcome to run it on your own laptop.

Are there any house rules?
No smoking or drugs are allowed inside the studio.
Please be respectful to our staff. We treat everyone like family!
Guests are liable for any studio equipment or property damaged during a recording session.
Are photos allowed to be taken in the studio?
Of course! We’d love to see them so be sure to tag us: #musicfrombigego
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Venmo, & PayPal.
All credit and debit card payments are subject to a 3% payment merchant processing fee.
Masters, drives, data, and final mixes will not be released until payment has been made in full.
Will you master my album?
No, but we recommending working with professional mastering engineers like:
JJ Golden, Ronan Chris Murphy, or TW Walsh.
